Safety Now Report: Hidden Halloween Dangers

A man being evicted from his Uptown apartment barricaded himself inside Thursday morning, set fire to the building and reportedly fired shots, police said.

Police and fire crews are at an Uptown residence where a man has barricaded himself inside an apartment and reportedly has fired shots and attempted to set a fire.

The marquee lights at the closed Saenger Theatre will be lit today while repairs continue at the theatre which was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The marquee will remain lit during the renovations. The repairs are expected to be completed by spring of 2011.

Preparations for this weekends\' VooDoo Festival are in full swing. This is only the third time that the festival has been held on a Halloween weekend.
