Dispatched as a signal 63 (trespass), the dispatcher advised units that it may be a residential burglary in progress. Units arrived very quickly, but were advised that the perps had just fled in a silver Chevy Malibu, tinted windows, with a temp tag.

District patrol units & rank played the area hard, searching for the fleeing subjects. Rank unit 340 spotted the vehicle some blocks away attempting to leave the area, and began to attempt to catch up to the fleeing vehicle. Unit 340 followed the vehicle down Paris Ave, but lost the perps in the area of St. Raymonds Church on Paris Ave.

Minutes later, another unit spotted the vehicle near the London Canal, near Sere & Havana, as the occupants were apparently in the process of abandoning the car. The occupants were immediately apprehended.

Back at the crime scene on Wildair, officers confirmed that it was a indeed a burglary, and advised rank that TVs were taken from the residence. The police signal code was officially changed to a 62r (residential burglary), and crime lab was requested to both the burglary scene and to the location of where the perps car was found.

Kudos to the observant neighbor who called 911, and to the 3rd dist. for a job well done!!! Although the subjects tried doubling back and dumping the car near a canal, the 3rd dist. found them nevertheless.
