At 12:09 PM, the 7th was holding a signal 107 at Grant & Lancelot, and a signal 21 on the 4400 block of Alba in the backlog list, when a patrol unit came clear an offered to take the 107. The dispatcher advised the unit to instead take the signal 21 on Alba, and read the notes for the first time. The notes advised that the call came in at 11:31am (almost 40 minutes ago), and involved an apparent off-duty officer who advised of a possible burglary in progress.
The unit was apparently not able to take either of the rolls, as something else came out. Rank then came on the air at 12:15 PM, recognized that the call was stale, and told the dispatcher to downgrade the signal 21 on Alba to a code 1.
The time is now 12:53 PM, and I am yet to hear a unit dispatched to Alba. I can only hope that it is a false alarm.
Obviously, something is very wrong when an officer calls in a possible burglary in progress, and units are not available to respond.
