Narcotics - 1200 Block of Elysian Fields

On July 7, 2010 members of the First District Task Force effected a
traffic stop in the 1200 block of Elysian Fields.

Officers observed illegal narcotics on the pasenger side of the
vehicle along with body armor.

The passenger, Percy Ross, black male, 3-29-78 attempted to run. One
of the officers engaged in a foot pursuit, deployed the taser on Ross
which interrupted the escape.

A name check found Ross to have several felony convictions, including
distribution of heroin. Ross was arrested and charged with possessing
body armor by a convicted felon.

Aggravated Battery - D'Abadie Street and North Tonti Street

On Monday, July 5, 2010 at approximately 6pm police were called to
D'Abadie and North Tonti Streets with regards to an aggravated
battery,

Officers learned a witness and the victim were walking near
D'Abadie and N. Tonti Streets when they were approached by an unknown
perpetrator who asked, "did you hit my brother?" The perpetrator
utilized his cell phone and stated to the person he called, "momma I
got this n----- right here."

A female arrived, identified as, Sonija Carter, B/F, date of
birth, 1/7/56. Carter, the perpetrators mother exited the vehicle and
stated, "yea that's him." The perpetrator removed a baseball bat from
the truck of the vehicle driven by Ms Carter and began to beat the
victim in the head and body with the bat.

During this investigation Ms Carter arrived home. Carter refused
to provide her sons name and to cooperate with the investigation.
Officers learned the victim and the subjects have been involved in an
ongoing fued involving a mentally challenged younger son.

Carter was arrested and charged for principal and accessory to the
aggravated battery.

Armed Robbery - Iberville Street and North Villere Street

On July 5, 2010 at approximately 1:30 am, police responded to an armed
robbery.

The victim stated he and his friends were walking on Iberville Street
towards North Villere when an unknown black male approached from
behind.

The subject had a rag wrapped around his right hand. The subject
pressed the object covered by the rag against the victims back and
stated, "Give me everything you got." Believing the subject was armed
with a gun the victim surrendered his I-phone and $30.00 in US
currency.

The witness observed the subject remove a dark colored hand gun from
his front pocket.

The subject is described as a black male, 17- 20 years old wearing a
black t-shirt, black baseball cap.

Armed Robbery - Conti Street & North Galvez Street

On Monday, July 5, 2010 at approximately 1:27 am police responded to
an armed robbery near Conti and N. Galvez Street.

The three victims stated they had entered their vehicle which was
parked in the 2100 Block of Conti Street. As the victims were about to
drive off an unknown black male walked in front of the vehicle. The
subject then walked to the drivers side window , which was down,and
placed a black and silver hand gun on window seal. The subject stated,
"Bitch don't move, nobody gone get hurt, give me ya'll pursues." The
subject was handed one purse at which time he stated, "Bitch you gone
make me shoot you, I said give me all the purses." Two more purses
were surrendered.

The subject walked to a black four door Volkswagen bearing Louisiana
Plate TFR505, where another black male was waiting in the drivers
seat. Officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen from Baton
Rouge on June 29, 2010.

This investigtaion is ongoing.

Business Burglary - 3100 Block of Tulane Avenue

On July 4, 2010 police responded to an attempted auto theft in the
1300 Block of St. Bernard Avenue.

Upon arrival officers apprehended a juvenile who was inside the fenced
yard of the business. The juvenile was found to be in possession of
checks with the business name printed on them.

The reporting person advised police, the checks were normally kept
inside a vehicle, locked and parked in the garage of the business. The
juvenile also damaged a go-cart he was attempting to steal.

Gun - Banks and Jeff Davis

On July 3, 2010 officers conducted a traffic stop near Banks and Jeff
Davis. As the officers approached the vehicle they observed two
marijuana blunts along with a .40 cal S@W weapon on the middle
console.

The driver, Kendall Jackson B/M 6-16-1987 was arrested and charged for
possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics.

Jackson is not a convicted felon, but had prior marijuana offenses.

Aggravated Battery - Shooting - 1800 Block of Frenchmen Street

On Sunday, July 4, 2010 at approximtely 12:15AM police responded to an
aggravated battery by shooting in the 1800 Block of Frenchman Street.

The victim stated he was standing on the sidewalk in the 1800 block
of Frenchmen Street when he heard either gunshots or fireworks. The
victim stated he felt pain on his right shoulder at which time he fell
striking his head on the sidewalk.

Residents in the area notified the police. EMS transported the victim
to the hospital where he refused medical treatment because he refused
to wait in the waiting room to retrieve medical attention for his
minor graze wounds.

Detectives canvassed the area for any witnesses or evidence, and
discovered (several brass .40 cal federal casings scattered on the
southeast corner of the intersection of Frenchman Street and N.Prieur
Street. Approximately 60 feet away an entry bullet hole in the
exterior wall of the a residence was discovered. The projectile lodged
on an interior wall inside this residence. Officers determined that no
one inside the residence was injuried.

A witness observed a black male subject approximately 5'5" tall with a
thin build wearing a white shirt and tan pants standing on the
southeast corner of Frenchman Street and N. Prieur Street firing a
black handgun.

Gun - 1800 Block of North Rampart

Cyril Borden, B/M, 05-23-89 was arrested in the 1800 Block of North
Rampart Street by members of police department.

Borden, was seen riding on a bicycle in the area and was in possession
of a small, silver, semi-auto handgun.

Narcotics - Bienville and Crozat Street

On July 3, 2010 at approximately 12:55 am members of the First
District Cops Unit arrested, Foster Barnes B/M 4-19-79 at Bienville
and Crozat Street.

Barnes was found to be in possession of 37.52 grams of Marijuana.
Barnes was arrested and charged for Possession of Marijuana.

Gun - Tulane and Broad Street

On Sunday, July 3, 2010, at approximately 12:20am, members of the
First District arrested Nelson Rucker, B/M, date of birth, 12/8/82
for a weapons and narcotics violation.

The officers observed the Rucker commit a traffic violation at Tulane
and Broad Streets. During the traffic stop, officers discovered the
suspect was in possession of approximately 25 grams of marijuana and a
Spring Field Armory, .40 caliber, semi-automatic hangun.

Nelson Rucker is from Lithonia, Georgia and has no local criminal
record.

Gun - AP Tureaud and Miro Street

On July 2, 2010 members of the First District Task Force conducted a
vehicle stop near AP Tureaud and Miro Streets. The officers observed
a weapon in the center console area.

Marijuana could be seen on the rear passengers shoe. (note the rear
passenger is a paralized from waist down.

The front seat passenger Kermandex Henry, who was also paralized, was
found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Henry was arrested and
charged for the crack cocaine.

A name check revealed the rear passenger, Jamal Hatton to be a
convicted felon. Hatton was arrested and charged as such.

The weapon (9mm taurus) belonged to the driver, who was arrested for
traffic. The driver stated that both passengers had knowledge of
the weapon.

Gun - 1400 Block of Music Street

On July 1, 2010 members of the First District Task Force conducted a
trafffic stop in the 1400 block of Music Street.

The officers recovered two medium sized marijuana plants along with a
Mosberg 12 gauge shotgun from the rear seat. David Dejean, B/M
1-22-1991 was arrested for this incident. Dejean has no prior
criminal record.

Armed Robbery - St Philip & Treme

On Friday, July 02, 2010 at approximately 2:03 am police were
dispatched to the 1000 block of North Robertson Street in reference to
an armed robbery..

It was learned the victim was walking from the French Quarters when
he noticed a young black male walking behind him. The victim noticed
the black male walking behind him was talking to two other young black
males who were walking on the opposite side of the street. A short
time later the was struck behind the left ear area with an unknown
object.

As the victim attempted to engage the subject, one of the other two
subjects intervened. A brief struggle ensued until the victim made
good his escape.

The three subjects caught up with the victim and surrounded him,
demanding his property. The victim threw $30.00 in U.S. Currency on
the ground. The victim refused to surrender his cell phone and
ranmaking good his escape.

The police were notified by the victim upon his arrival home.

All of the subjects appeared to be early to mid teenagers. Two were
wearing blue jeans and black shirts, the third wore a blue jeans and
white T-Shirt.

Residence Burglary - 1600 Block of North Broad Street

On Wednesday June 30, 2010 a residential burglary took place in the
1600 Block of North Broad Street at approximately 9 am. The resident
locked and secured her home as she left for work.

A witness observed an unknown black male exit the rear door a short
time later. The subject was described as a b/m mid 20's medium build,
dark complexion, low haircut.
The subject was seen entering a Chevy gold/tan SUV. The vehicle was
either a Tahoe or Suburban.

A second unknown black male, possibly acting as a look-out was seen
sitting on the front porch of the residence during the apparent
burglary.


Flat Screen televisions, playstation 3 and a Wii console were reported
taken

If any suspicious activity is observed please notify the police.

Murder - Fourth and Annuniciation Streets Photo posted in files under F-40469-10

I do realize this did not happen in the First District, however he may
travel through our area. A photo is posted under the files section.
Officer Young

Orleans, LA –Members of the New Orleans Police Department are
requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying the
suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old local
male, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family
members. The incident occurred today, at approximately 4:45 p.m., at
the intersection of Annunciation and Fourth Streets.

According to investigators, Sixth District officers responded to a
call of a “male shot” and upon their arrival, found the victim lying
on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the
victim dead.

During the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives developed
a suspect that was seen in the area. The suspect is described as an
African American male, 28 to 32 years old, with a brown complexion,
short hair and a medium build. The suspect was last seen wearing a red
t-shirt and black pants. The suspect was last seen driving a white
2005 Ford E-250 Van bearing North Carolina license plate YYW5841.

Homicide Detective Greg Hamilton is in charge of the investigation and
can be reached at 658-5300.



Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to
call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP (7867). You
could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to
the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not
have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

Residence Burglary - 3100 Block of Banks

On June 27, at approximately 5pm, the victim locked and secured the
residence prior to leaving for work. Upon returning home on June 28,
2010 at approximately 2am, the victim discovered the window of the
front door was broken. A 50" flat screen television was missing from
the residence.

Gun- 1800 block Touro Street

On June 29, 2010 officers attempted to stop a young male riding a
bicycle..  The subject fled but was successfully apprehended a short
time later. The juvenile was found to be in
possession of a .22 revolver and marijuana.

Aggravated Battery - Cutting - 1800 Block North Derbigny

On June 29, 2010 police were called to the 1800 block of N. Derbigny
in regards to an aggravated battery.

The victim stated she and her daughter ( a known juvenile) became
involved in an altercation at which time the juvenile retrieved a pair
fo scissors and cut the victims forearm.

The known juvenile was arrested and charged for the incident.

Rape - 1200 Block of Annette Street

On Saturday, June 26, 2010 at approximately 6:47 p.m. police
responded sexual battery in the 1200 Block of Annette Street.
The victim stated she was walking in the 1200 block of Annette
Street, when she observed four unknown black male subjects, sitting on
the front steps in the 1200 Block of Annette Street. As she continued
walking two of the subjects approached her one from the front and one
from the rear. Subject # 1 was in front of the victim,brandished a
chrome semi-automatic handgun with black grips. He and the subject
located to her rear shoved her inside an abondon house in the 1200
Block of Annette Street.
The victim stated the two subjects were joioned by a third subject
who forced vaginal/penile penetration on the victim. The victim was
also forced to perform oral sex on the subjects. The victim stated the
fourth subject watched the incident.
The victim stated the subjects where wearing condoms. After the
sexual assault the subjects walked toward the front of the house at
which time she crawled out a window and made good her escape.

The subjects are described as:

Perpetrator #1. Approximately 5’7, 140 pounds, 20 years of
age, light complexion short hair, with a tattoo of lettering on his
top left arm. He was wearing a black tank top and khaki cargo shorts.
The perpetrator was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun with
black grips.

Perpetrator #2. Approximately 6’2, 160 pounds, slender
but muscular build, 25 years old with a dark complexion. He was
wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and a black stocking cap.
He has a black teardrop tattoo below one of his eyes, and has gold
canine teeth.

Perpetrator #3. Approximately 5’5, 160 -170 pounds, 20 years old
wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts and black tennis shoes. He
had short hair which was a little longer on top.

Perpetrator #4. Approximately 5’5, 160-170 pounds, about 20
years old wearing either blue or green shorts.

Aggravated Battery - Toulouse & N. Broad Street

On June 27, 2010 at approximately 2:58am police responded to Toulouse
and North Broad Street to investigate an aggravated battery.

Upon arrival it was learned the victim was walking in the area of
Toulose and N. Broad Street when he was approached by an unknown black
male. The subject was approximately 6'1", 150 - 160 lbs, dark
complexion, medium length dread locks. The subjects was wearing a blue
hoodie and armed with a blue steel handgun.

The victim pushed the subject in an attempt to disarm him. Both the
victim and the subject fell to the ground. The subject did drop the
gun in the struggle however regained possession of it. The subject
began to strike the victim on the head with the gun before fleeing the
area.

The victim sustained several small cuts to the back of the head.

This investigation is ongoing.

Armed Robbery - 1100 Block of St. Bernard

On Saturday June 26, 2010 police responded to an armed robbery in the
1100 block of St. Bernard. The victim stated she was walking in the
1100 block of Kelerec where she was approached from the rear by an
unknown black male on a bicycle.

The victim described the subject as, black male 35-40 years of age,
with short dreds, clad in a red shirt. "give me what you got." The
subject implied he was armed with a gun. The victim gave him $1.00.
The subject then slapped the victim on her left cheek.

The victim ran and notified the police. The subject fled on the
bicycle in an unknown direction.

A short time later police observed a subject fitting the description
near N. Miro and
Onzaga St. The subject refused to stop on the bicycle. The subject was
eventually apprehended.

The victim identified the subject as the subject that had previously
robbed her.

Horace Price was placed under arrest for this incident.

Gun Arrest - Claiborne and St. Ann

On June 27,2010 at approximately 12:22 A.M police stopped a vehicle at
Claiborne and St. Ann for traffic violations.

The passenger, Donald Emery, B/M, date of birth 01-23-1962, was
arrested for traffic warrants in Westwego. One Hi-Point .45 caliber
semi-auto handgun, a crack pipe, and a small bag of marijuana was
confiscated from the vehicle.

The firearm was found to have a obliterated serial number.

The charges were as follows:

Possesion of a firearm and a controlled dangerous substance
Possesion of a firearm with an obliterated serial number
Possesion of a marijuana
Possesion of drug paraphernalia

Narcotics - 300 Block Basin Street

On June 26, 2010, members of the First District Narcotics Unit
executed a search warrant in the 300 Block of Basin Street. Valree
Wells, B/M, 11/29/1983, and Othello Hamilton, B/M, 5/12/1982, were
arrested and charged with Possession of marijuana, Possession of
crack cocaine, Possession of Parphernalia.

Valree Wells was also charged with Resissting Arrest by Flight.

Othelleo Hamilton was also booked for probation violation.

Attempted Armed Robbery - St Bernard and North Dorgenois Street

On Sunday, June 27, 2010 the victim was walking on St. Bernard
Ave.near North
Dorgenois when she was approached by an unknown subject on a bicycle.
The victim stated the unknown subject, described as a black male,
early 20's clad in a red shirt,black jeans shorts, red/black hat began
flirting with her. The subject ask the victim for her name and phone
number. When the victim refused his advances, the subject stated,
"give me everything you got." The subject stated "you think I'm
playing" and began to remove a silver object from
his front pocket. The victim ran at which time the subject fled in an
unknown direction.

The victim described the bike as a red child size bike.

This investigation is ongoing.

Narcotics - 2300 Block of St. Anthony Street

On June 25, 2010, members of the First Distict Narcotics Unit
conducted an investigation in the First District which led to the
arrest of Kevin Harrison, B/M, 12/19/1985 in the 2300 block of Saint
Anthony Street.

Officers seized a 12 gauge cobra street swepper shotgun, a cobray m11
9mm mine ozi, Ruger p-95 DC 9MM handgun, Berrita 9mm semi-automatic
handgun, 21 grams of heroin, 12.2 grams of crack cocaine, a digital
scale, and $914.00 in U.S. currency.

Kevin Harrison was arrested and charged with Possession with the
Intent to Distribute heroin, 22 grams, Possession with the Intent to
Distbute crack cocaine, 12.2. grams, Possession of Parphernalia,
Relative to Possession of four Firearms while in Possession of
Controled Dangerous Substance, Relative to Possession of four Firearms
by a Convicted Felon.

Narcotics - Gravier and South Genois Street

On June 27, 2010, members of the First District Narcotics Unit
arrested Terry Brumfield, B/M, 10/6/1979, and Yacsheka Jackson, B/F,
7/22/1980 at Gravier and South Genois.

Terry Brumfield was arrested and charged with Convicted Felon in
Possession of a Firearm,
Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Controled Dangerous
Substance, Possession with the Intent to Distribute heroin, 57.7
grams, Possession of a marijuana, 2 grams, and Possession of
Parphernalia.

Yacsheka Jackson was arrested and charged with possession with intent
to distribute heroin, and the paraphernalia charge.

This investigation lead to a search warrant in the 1400 block of
Egania Street where both subjects reside. The weapon confiscated is a
Glock 9mm with 30 round clip.

Aggravated Battery - Shooting - 2500 Block of Bienville Street

On Wednesday, June 23, 2010 police responded to a shootinging the 2500
Block of Bienville Street. The victim stated as he was walking in the
2500 Block of Bienville Street an unknown subject exited an alleyway
and began firing on him. The victim attempted to evade the subject but
was struck three times. The unknown subject fled the area in an
unknown direction.

Several casing were recovered from the sidewalk.

Residence Burglary - Zones B,C,and J

1st District Property Crimes Unit has gathered information concerning
a recent rash of residential burglaries within the First District..

There are 2 - 3 black male subjects between the ages of 16-25.
Some have been described as having dredlocks and atleast one with a
low haircut.

The subjects are gaining entry through side or rear windows.

A majority of the crimes are believed to been committed during the
hours of 8am-3pm.
It is believed that the perps are watching and learning the victims
routine then gaining entry after the homeowner leaves.

Although anything of value can be a target, flat screen televisions
and electronic equipment (i.e.Playstations, cameras, and Ipods) have
been stolen the most.

In two cases, days prior to the homes being burglarized an unknown
black male, described as 16-20 years of age, clean shaven with a low
haircut and wearing a cap has knocked on the door and asks for a
person by name. When the occupant states the person does not live at
the location, the subject leaves peacfully.

One witness observed the subjects leaving in a red/maroon 4- door
Pontiac Grand Prix with tinted windows.

Please be on the look out for any suspicious activity in your area and
call 911 if any is observed.

Aggravated Battery - 1500 Block of Iberville Street

On 06-24-2010 at approximately 12:55 a.m., police responded to an
aggravated battery in the 1500 block of Iberville Street. The victim
was transported to a local hospital.

The victim stated he was walking north bound on Iberville Street when
three black males stepped from behind an apartment building and
approached him. The victim stated two of the subjects were carrying a
wooden 2x4.

He described the subjects as being approximately 5'6 to 5'8 inches
tall, two of the subjects were
wearing white t-shirts, and the third subject was wearing a black t-
shirt. The subjects approached him and began striking him repeatedly
with the 2x4's. The victim fell to the ground while the subjects
continued striking him. As the victim began to get up, he stated his
black and blue back pack fell to the ground, along with his black
Kenneth Cole wallet.

The victim stated he walked around the corner and attempted to get
help from black female who refused to help him.

The victim stated he waited approximately five minutes and returned to
the location of the incident, in hopes of retrieving his belongings.
Upon returning to the location, the same three black males approached
him, began striking him. One of the subjects, shouted " If you come
back to New Orleans again, we'll kill you".

The victim relocated in order to get help.

The detective observed several lacerations to the face and head of the
victim. Both eyes were swollen almost shut and his nose bloody. The
victim also sustained a large gash to the back of the head . Visible
on the back was a red welt consistent with that of a 2x4 imprint..The
victim complained he could not move his right arm.

Narcotics - 2300 Block Bienville Street

On June 22, 2010, members of the First District Narcotics Unit
executed a search warrants in the 2300 block of Bienville Street.

Arron Scot, B/M, 3/7/1981 was arrested for Possession of a crack
cocaine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm by a
Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a
controlled dangerous substance.

Mr. Scot also was arrested for a probation violation. $118.00 was
seized.

Narcotics - 600 Block of Soth Scott Street

Members of the First District Narcotics Unit served a search warrant
in the 600 Block of South Scott Street on June 22, 2010.

Sherrick Brumfield, B/M, 2/6/1990, and Lori Stark, W/F, 2/10/1982,
were arrested for Possession with the Intent to Distribute cocaine, 10
grams, Possession of a marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

$286.00 in U.S. currency was seized.

Car Burglary - Tulane Avenue and South Prieur

On Friday, June 18, 2010, at approximately 6:39 pm, police responed to
a car break burglary called in by an off duty officer near Tulane & S.
Prieur. The off duty officer broadcast a description of the two black
males and stated they smashed the window of a blue Nissan Maxima with
a rock.

Responding officers arrived and observed the perpetrators reaching
into the broken window of the Nissan Maxima. Upon seeing the officers,
the two B/M's split up and proceeded to walk away from the vehicle.
Both subjects were apprehended a short time later.

The two perpetrators, Tyrone Gentris, B/M, date of birth 12-13-1992
and Richard Boyles, B/M, date of birth 11-07-1990 were arrested and
charged with the car burglary.

Simple Robbery - Gov. Nicholls and N. Johnson Street

On June 21, 2010 at approximately 12:45pm, police responded to a
domestic disturbance call near Gov. Nicholls and N. Johnson Street.

The victim advised the officers she and her boyfriend were involved in
an argument. The victim went to a store and was attempting to buy food
when her boyfriend approached her. The boyfriend reached into the
victims pockets at which time he removed $15.00 and a room key. The
boyfriend fled on a bicycle.

Officers in the area located the boyfriend, Marcquel Thomas, B/M,
3/18/87 who was in possession of the key and $15.00. Thomas admitted
to the officers he removed the items from the victims pocket. Thomas
was arrested and charged for the simple robbery.

Aggravated Battery - Shooting - 2900 Block of Serantine Street

On Friday, June 18, 2010 at approximately 1:40 pm, police were called
to the 2900 block of Serantine Street on a shooting.

Upon arrival officers located the victim who had sustained a single
gunshot wound to the left arm and one witness. The officers learned
the victim and the witness were sitting on the porch when an unknown
black male ran onto the porch and fired one shot striking the victim.
It was also learned the victim and the witness had met approximately
two hours prior to the incident.

The subject is described as a black male, 25 - 30 years of age, clad
in a blue and white stripped polo shirt, baggy light jeans, with black
and white tennis shoes.

One casing was recovered from the scene.

Narcotics - 2200 Block Dumaine Street - Hot Line Compliant

On June 21, 2010, officers conducted surveillance on the
complaint location. After the surveillance the officers conducted a
"knock and talk" interview.

Donald Alexander, B/M,12-15-1986, was found to be in possession of
1.5 grams of marijuana. Alexander was arrested and charged with
possession of marijuana.

The officers will continue to monitor the location for any other
illegal activity.

Narcotics/Gun - North Derbigny and Bienville Street

On June 20, 2010 members of the First District Task Force noticed a
subject who resembled a wanted person in connection with a narcotics
warrant from the previous nite. As the officers attempted to intiate
a pedestrian stop, the subject fled on foot. During the foot pursiut,
the subject, Sidney Marigny B/M 4-26-95 pulled a handgun from his
waistband and continued to flee. Marigny was apprehended in the 400
block of Claiborne Avenue.

The weapon was recovered and learned to be a Hi Point .380 with a
obliterated serial number.

Marigny was not the suspect wanted in the previous incident from the
day before.

Narcotics - 900 Block of North Johnson Street

On June 19, 2010, members of the First District Task Force conducted a
traffic stop in 900 block of N. Johnson Street. As the suspect
vehicle stopped the driver, Keith Nelson B/M 8-4-1990 fled on foot
making good his escape. Officers recovered approximately 20 grams of
crack cocaine, currency and cell phone.

Nelson is known by the police officers due to numerous encounters.
Nelson is currently on probation from May 16, 2010 to May 16, 2015. An
arrest warrant was issued for Nelson and the evidence was deposited at
Central Evidence and Properrty.

Bike Giveaway - Iberville Development June 19, 2010

Saturday, June 16, 2010 the First District joined together with Ms Kim
Pipper from the Iberville Residence Group for a bike giveaway. The
event was very successful and all who participated seemed to really
have enjoyed themselves.

Our thanks go out to the many volunteers who helped make this event
possible. Please know this event was so successful because of all the
hard work from the volunteers and the donations. Thanks aain to:

1 The barbers who gave free haircuts to the boys
2 The many ladies who provided hair braiding, face painting and nail
polishing to the girls.
3.Brown's Velvet for the juice donations.
4 Tulane University for the bikes that were given away.
5.Keenan Lewis a football player for Pittsburgh steelers talked to
and played with the kids

Kim Pipper from the Iberville Residence group really went above and
beyond in hosting this event. Thanks again the support is greatly
appreciated.

Narcotics - 2000 Block Bienville Street

On June 18, 2010, members of the First District Narcotics Unit
executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Bienville Street.

John Petrie, B/M, 8/10/1983, and Mickel Manuel, B/M, 12/23/1985, were
arrested for Possession with the Intent to Distribute crack cocaine,
seven rocks, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

One HI-Point semi-automatic handgun was recovered during the warrant,
as well as $570.00 in US currency.

NArcotics - 4000 Block of Baudin

Members of the First District Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant
in the 4000 block of Baudin Street. One and a half grams of crack
cocaine was discovered. An arrest warrant was issued for Sierra
Lampart, B/F. 8/6/1986, Possession with the Intent to distribute
crack cocaine. Ms. Lampart is currently on probation for possession
with the intent to distribute cocaine, and marijuana. Probation and
Parole Agent Stephanie Moore, was notified of the incident and advised
Lampart's probation will be violated.

Narcotics - 2800 Block of Tulane Avenue

Members of the First District Narcotics Unit arrested Louis Davenport,
B/M, 9/9/1965, in the 2800 block of Tulane Avenue for Possession with
the Intent to Distribute marijuana, 86.7 grams, Possession of crack
cocaine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Theft - 1100 Block St. Bernard Avenue

On Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at approximatley 6:30 am the victim was
approached by an unknown black male who exited a dark colored Ford
-150 claiming to be a police officer. The subject requested the
victims identification at which time the victim relinquished his
wallet and other items. The victim went inside to get other documents
and upon returning outside the subject was gone.

This investigation is ongoing.

Theft - 600 Block South Tonti Street

On June 13, 2010 at approximately 8:25 am the victim was pulled over
by a pickup truck utlizing a police type flashlight. The subject
exited the vehicle and requested the victims identification. The
victim relinquished his wallet and other items. The subject then fled
with the victims belongings.

This investigation is ongoing.

Aggravated Battery - Shooting - 4000 Block of Tulane Avenue

On Monday, June 14, 2010 at approximately 12:52am, police responded to
gunshots in the 4000 Block of Tulane. Upon arrival the officers
learned from several people that a couple of black males were
shooting at each other.

A short time later police were notified of a gunshot victim at
University Hospital. The victim stated he was working as a security
guard and attempted to defuse an argument between two black males he
knew, by taking one of the subjects outside. As the victim was talking
to the subject outside an unknown black female approached and began to
scold the victim for the way he handled the situation. The victim
advised the female he was not going to argue with her. At this time an
unknown black male approached the victim and stated, "man that's my
cousin and you don't handle her like that." The victim and this
subject exchanged words at which time the unknown subjected walked to
a vehicle which was parked close to the club and retrieved a handgun.
The subject walked back toward the victim and began shooting striking
the victim.

The subject is a b/m, 25 - 30 years of age, wearing a blue New York
Yankee baseball cap, blue and white striped shirt with brown shorts.

This investigation is ongoing.

Gun

On June 14, 2010, members of the First District confiscated two
weapons during a traffic stop. The officers observed marijuana and an
open alcohol beverage inside the vehicle.

One subject, Deric Peters was on probation of crack cocaine and a
weapon. After interviewing the three subjects, Vincent Williams and
Deric Peters admitted to possession the weapons.

Deric Peters, B/M 11-9-1987
Vincent Williams B/M 12-16-1985

Weapons recovered; .38 Taurus Revolver and Glock .45 cal. Model 30,
neither reported stolen.

Citizen Complaint - 1900 Block of Esplande Avenue

First District Officers arrested Chelsea Karno, W/F, 05-06-1987, with
21.17 grams of marijuana. She was stopped in the 1900 Block of
Esplande Avenue for traffic violations and admitted being in possesion
of marijuana.

On June 14, 2010, officers of the First District effected a traffic
stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers observed marijuana
and an open alcohol beverage in the console area. Due to occupants
appearing very nervous, the officers elected to remove the passengers
from the vehicle.

Officers observed two weapons in the vehicle. The officers learned
one of the subjects, Deric Peters was on probation of crack cocaine
and a weapon. After interviewing the three subjects, it Vincent
Williams and Deric Peters admitted the weapons belonged to them. The
weapons were not reported stolen.

Hot Line Complaint - 1500 Block of North Broad Street

On June 14, 2010, members of the First District conducted surveillance
based on a Crime stoppers tip in the 1500 Block of North Broad Street.
Detectives observed several subjects loitering in front of the abondon
location. Officers conducted a field interview of the subjects. Two
subjects, Ivan Houston, B/M, 3/28/1978, and Raymond Morrell, B/M,
7/14/1967, had traffic attachments out of Jefferson Parish. Both
subjects were arrested.
