2ND DISTRICT EMAIL BLAST ARMED ROBBERY IN THE 100 BLOCK OF ADAMS ST.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at approximately 9:41 pm, the victim was
about to enter her vehicle which was parked in the 1000 block of Adams
Street. The victim was approached unknown black male who produced a
silver handgun gun and demanded the keys to the vehicle. The victim
complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s SUV.
The victim immediately called the police and gave a description
of the vehicle and the incident. At approximately 10:00pm, Second
District Officer’s located the vehicle and its driver at South
Carrolton and Earhart the officers conducted a stop of the vehicle.
The officers stopped the driver without incident and subsequently
obtained a positive identification as the perpetrator of the robbery.
The handgun was located in the vehicle and was found to be stolen out
of Jefferson Parish. Johny Wells (black male 4/16/1991) was charged
with the offense. Additional information on this arrest and/or
subsequent prosecution can be obtained via the Docket Master at

2ND DISTRICT EMAIL BLAST MARDIS GRAS MARATHON ALERT

Please be reminded of the Rock n' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon this Sunday
beginning at 7 am on Race and Tchoupitoulas Streets. The race
continues to Jackson then up Prytania towards and then into Audubon
Park, continues back up the length of St. Charles to MLK, then through
downtown and out to City Park.


According the the race officials, several street closures are
scheduled within the Garden District and the uptown area. Please make
note of these approximated times as you make your plans for Sunday.


Jackson Ave Between Tchoupitoulas and Prytania 6:00 am - 9:00 am
Prytania St between Jackson and Jefferson Ave 6:00 am - 9:45 am
St. Charles Ave Eastbound between Henry Clay and MLK 6:15 am - 11:45
am
St. Charles Ave Westbound between Jefferson and MLK 6:15 am - 11:45 am
Jefferson Avenue between Magazine and St. Charles 6:00 am - 9:45 am
Magazine St. between Jefferson and Audubon Park 6:00 am - 10:15 am
Henry Clay between Prytania and St. Charles Ave 6:30 am - 10:30 am

2ND DISTRICT EMAIL BLAST AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING AT PINE AND FORSHEY STREETS

On Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at approximately 5:59 pm the victim was
stopped in his vehicle at the intersection of Pine and Forshey
Streets. At that time an unknown black male approached the victims’
vehicle and shot him several times. The suspect fled in an unknown
direction.



The suspect is described as a black male 5’11” and 160 pounds. He was
wearing a black jacket with red designs on the sleeve, and black
pants.


If you have any information on this incident please notify
Second District Detectives at 658-60200 or Crime Stoppers at
822-1111.


Remember to report any suspicious persons or activities
you see in your neighborhood by calling 821-2222. In an emergency,
call 911 immediately.

On Thursday, February 25, 2010 at approximately 1:43 pm the victim was
removing items from the back seat of her vehicle when an unknown black
male approached her, pushed her down and grabbed her purse off her
shoulder. Them unknown black male fled on a bicycle towards St.
Charles then unknown.



The suspect id described as a black male 30 years old, 5’7”, and 170
pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket with white knit hat.


If you have any information on this incident please notify

On Monday, February 8, 2010 at approximately 1:00 pm the victim was
seated in her vehicle which was parked in the 5300 block of
Tchoupitoulas. At that time the victim was approached by an unknown
white male who produced a knife and demanded money. The victim
relinquished her money and the suspect fled on foot.

Responding officers were able to apprehend Victor Caron, white male
6-16-69 who was arrested and charged with this offense. Additional
information on this arrest and/or subsequent prosecution can be
obtained via the Docket Master at ww.opcso.org.
