On Monday, December 23, 2013 at approximately 6:45 P.M. the Second District Patrol Division, Task Force and Detective Unit responded to the 1400 block of S. Carrollton Ave. in reference to an Armed Robbery. Headquarters broadcasted a description of the three perpetrators, all three where young black males, one of which attired in a red top and the other two were “Chubby”, and fled the scene on S. Carrollton towards Oak St.
Second District Detectives while enroute to the scene observed three black male juveniles walking on Oak St. fitting the description of the perpetrators of the Armed Robbery. Detectives conducted a stop on the three juveniles in the 7200 block of Oak St. and a positive identification on all three juveniles was giving by the victim.
The victim advised that he was walking in the 1400 block of S. Carrollton and upon approaching the Library at 1401 S. Carrollton he heard voices behind him. The victim stated that as he was turning around he was struck by a glass bottle, which was thrown by one of the juvenile perpetrators. The victim stated that the other juvenile punched him the face several times and took his cell phone, while demanding “Give me the money”.
Second District Detectives located the victim’s cell phone beside a tree and behind a garage container where detectives observed the three juveniles.
The three juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Division where they were booked accordingly.
