Murder Investigation

New Orleans, LA – Members of the New Orleans Police are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 34-year-old local male, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred shortly before 9:30 P.M., at the intersection of Louisa and Marais Streets.

According to investigators, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a "male down" and upon their arrival, found the victim laying in the street on a motorcycle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians were summoned to the scene where the victim was pronounced dead.

Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive. Homicide Detective Scott Rodrigue is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at 658-5300.
