16 Year Old Arrested for Principal to Second Degree Murder
New Orleans, LA -This evening, members of the New Orleans Police Department have arrested a 16-year-old male and booked him with Principal to Second Degree Murder. The offense occurred August 11, 2010 at approximately 2:40 P.M., in the 2600 block of
D’Abadie Street.
According to investigators, First District officers responded to a call of a “male shot” and, upon their arrival, found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims were treated for their injuries and the third died at the hospital.
As a result of the on-going investigation, Homicide Detective Desmond Pratt identified a 16-year-old juvenile involved in the incident and secured an Arrest Warrant.
Today, Eighth District Officers Jack Buzali and Alan Seaton were dispatched to investigate a possible stolen vehicle in the 800 block of
Canal Street. The officers arrived on the scene and learned the vehicle was reported stolen and arrested a juvenile that was entering it. The officers conducted a name check of the juvenile and learned he had an outstanding warrant for Principal to Second Degree Murder. The officers searched the vehicle and found a handgun. Detectives are in the process of determining the origin of the weapon.
The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Division for processing.
