Cold Case Homicide Detectives Identify Suspects In Last Year’s Murder   

 

 

New Orleans/>, LA/> - Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Division have secured Second Degree Murder arrest warrants for 25-year-old Hyran/> Brooks/> and his brother 22-year-old Jamal/> Brooks/>/>.  The incident occurred March 12, 2009, at approximately 1:00 P.M., in the 4100 block of

Hollygrove Street
/>.       

 

According to investigators, Third District officers responded to a call of a “male shot” and, upon their arrival, found the victim lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died.

 

Detectives ascertained the victim was accosted by three unknown African-American males all armed with handguns.  The victim attempted to flee at which time the suspects began firing, mortally wounded the victim.         

 

As a result of the on-going investigation, Cold Case Homicide Detective Harold Wischan developed information from concerned citizens and identified the Brooks brothers responsible for the murder and secured arrest warrants.  A third suspect, who was described as an African-American male known only by the street name “Sticker” has not been identified.     

 

Citizens with information that can help identify the third suspect, “STICKER” or has information about this crime is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.
