Fatality Investigation
New Orleans, LA - This morning, members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit are investigating a motorcycle accident that left a 33-year-old local man dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., on the Interstate 10 Airline Avenue Westbound exit ramp.
According to investigators, the driver of a motorcycle was traveling on the elevated portion of the exit ramp, when for reasons unknown, lost control of his motorcycle and struck the guard rail. The driver was ejected from his motorcycle, went over the guard rail, and fell to the ground on the lower portion of the Interstate.
Emergency Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The Coroner’s Office will conduct their investigation and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
