NOPD Believes Slidell Murder Suspect Possibly in Missouri

(November 9, 2011)-  New Orleans police believe the suspect wanted in the killing of a Slidell doctor in the French Quarter is now possibly in Missouri.

Detectives say surveillance video obtained from the Greyhound Station on Loyola Avenue shows 20-year-old Bobby Troy boarding a bus destined for Columbia, Missouri last Sunday.  It’s been suggested that Troy was born in Missouri, and he possibly has relatives there.  Missouri Police are now actively seeking out Troy, and Missouri media has released Troy’s photo to the public.

Troy is accused of attacking and robbing 37-year-old Dr. Brent Hachfeld on October 16 near the intersection of Dumaine and Dauphine Streets.  The coroner’s office says Hachfeld died of trauma to the head.

Detectives were able to link Troy to the crime through DNA recovered from the scene.

Bobby Troy is 20-years-old, about 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 186 pounds.  He was enrolled at Dillard University and lived in an apartment on campus.

In the past, Troy has been arrested for Battery and Disturbing the Peace, as well as Criminal Damage to Property.  He has also been picked up for curfew violation and as a runaway on 2 occasions.

A photo of Bobby Troy is attached.  If you know where Troy may be, please call CrimeStoppers at (504)822-1111.  You do not need to give your name, and if your tip helps lead to an arrest and indictment of Troy, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
