Man Attempts to Rob Discount Store in Broadmoor
New Orleans Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for attempted robbery of the Discount Corner Food Store located at 4101 South Claiborne Avenue. The incident occurred on April 25, 2012 at approximately 3:30 A.M.
During the early morning hours on Wednesday, the suspect walked into the store, produced a black revolver from his waistband and demanded money from the cashier. Once the suspect realized he could not defeat the security glass, he knocked over several display items from the counter as he fled the location. The suspect was subsequently observed conversing with an unidentified male outside of the business.
Police are seeking the public’s help with identifying the armed suspect and the second male outside of the business.
The armed suspect was described as an African-American male wearing a white sport jersey with the number 25 printed on it. The suspect was also wearing a female wig and a green baseball cap.
The unknown subject outside of the store was described as a light complexion African-American male or Hispanic male wearing all dark clothing and driving a silver vehicle.
A copy of the surveillance video obtained by detectives was released to local media outlets.

Any person who, after the commission of a felony, shall harbor, conceal, or aid the offender, knowing or having reasonable ground to believe that he has committed the felony, and with the intent that he may avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction, or punishment shall be charged with R.S. 14:25; Relative to Accessories After the Fact.
An accessory after the fact may be tried and punished, notwithstanding the fact that the principal felon may not have been arrested, tried, convicted, or amenable to justice.
Whoever becomes an accessory after the fact shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both; provided that in no case shall his punishment be greater than one-half of the maximum provided by law for a principal offender.
