New Orleans Police Department- Public Information Office
The Annual Inspection and Memorial Mass celebrated by the New Orleans Police, Fire and EMS Departments will be held in Jackson Square at the St. Louis Cathedral on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
The memorial service dating from the early 1900’s is held as a solemn tribute to Police, Fire and EMS workers who have given their lives for their community.
Commanders and their members shall report to Jackson Square for group photographs at 9:00 A.M. The Inspection will begin promptly at 10:00 A.M. All members should be in their assigned positions and formation.
The Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. and will be televised on WLAE-TV Channel 12 as a public service. After the mass there will be refreshments on the church patio.
All members, including NOPD Retirees are invited and urged to attend both the Inspection and Mass.
