NOPD Makes Arrest in Sunday’s French Quarter Home Invasion

(July 18, 2012)-  Just a day after a violent Home Invasion in the French Quarter, 8th District Detectives arrested 31-year-old Ronnie Tolliver and charged him with Home Invasion, Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Battery.

On Sunday July 15, 2012 at about 1pm, Tolliver followed the victim to his residence in the 900 block of Dumaine Street and forced his way inside. Once inside of the residence Tolliver armed himself with an object and struck the victim over the head. Tolliver fled the residence with the object. Citizens in the area took pictures of Tolliver as he fled and this assisted detectives in gathering a positive identification.

Tolliver was booked into Central Lockup and charged with Home invasion, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Battery and outstanding warrants for Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property.

Tolliver had prior arrests for Crimes Against Nature Solicitation, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Heroin, Battery on a Police Officer, Failure to Register as Sex Offender, Domestic Violence, Disturbing the Peace, Criminal Trespass, Parole Violation.

A photograph of Ronnie Tolliver is attached to this press release.
