“NOPD’s Narcotics and Task Force Units Investigated 1,732 Complaints, 47 Narcotics Cases and Confiscated 9 Guns in Two Weeks”
The New Orleans Police Department’s Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated approximately 1,732 complaints. As a result the NOPD’s Task Force Units, they executed 5 Search Warrants, investigated 44 Felony cases, conducted 606 Vehicle Checks and issued 321 citations. They made 47 Narcotics cases, confiscated 9 Guns, and numerous amounts of Crack, Marijuana, Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and Heroin.
Since July of 2010 Officers have investigated approximately 154,834 complaints, executed approximately 700 Search Warrants, made approximately 4,310 Felony cases, conducted approximately 56,542 vehicle checks, issued approximately 28,263 citations, made approximately 4,064 Narcotics cases, confiscated approximately 1,033 guns and numerous amounts of Illegal Narcotics.
These results are from July 1, 2012 thru July 14, 2012.
First District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 373 complaints and made 101 cases for 17 Felony, 54 Misdemeanors, and 30 Municipal violations. The units wrote 65 reports, made 336 pedestrian contacts and had 91 field interviews. The units stopped 202 vehicles, issued 89 citations and made 14 traffic arrests. They executed 3 Search Warrants and made 16 Narcotics cases confiscating 2 Guns, Narcotics and $12,799.00 in cash.
Second District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 186 complaints and 12 previous complaints. They made 50 cases for 6 Felony, 35 Misdemeanors and 9 Municipal violations and issued 3 Summons. They made 45 field interviews, 66 pedestrian contacts and wrote 46 reports. They made 80 vehicle stops, issued 84 citations and made 23 traffic arrests. They conducted 1 Wanted Check and made 4 Narcotics cases confiscating 1 Gun and Narcotics.
Third District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 311 complaints and 8 previous complaints. They made 36 cases for 1 Felony, 25 Misdemeanor, 10 Municipal violations and issued 20 Summons and had 2 Curfew violators. They made 31 pedestrian contacts, 115 field interviews and wrote 27 reports. They made 109 vehicle stops, issued 98 citations and made 19 traffic arrests. They made 7 Narcotics cases confiscating Narcotics.
Fourth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 84 complaints and 1 previous complaint. They made 32 cases for 3 Felony, 27 Misdemeanor and 2 Municipal violations. They made 38 pedestrian contacts, 34 field interviews and wrote 11 reports. The units stopped 24 vehicles, issued 17 citations and made 4 traffic arrests. They conducted 1 Wanted Check and made 2 Narcotics cases confiscating Narcotics.
Fifth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 208 complaints and 8 previous complaints. They made 36 cases including 1 juvenile for 1 Felony, 16 Misdemeanor and 19 Municipal violations and had 4 Curfew violators. They made 105 pedestrian contacts, 182 field interviews and wrote 32 reports. The units stopped 82 vehicles, issued 42 citations and made 11 traffic arrests. They made 9 Narcotics cases confiscating 1 Gun and Narcotics.
Sixth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 325 complaints and had 5 previous complaints. They made 39 cases for 13 Felony, 14 Misdemeanor and 12 Municipal violations and issued 2 Summons. They made 140 pedestrian contacts, 34 field interviews and wrote 30 reports. The units stopped 101 vehicles, issued 28 citations and made 3 traffic arrests. They conducted 5 Wanted Check, executed 2 Search Warrants and made 9 Narcotics cases confiscating 3 Guns, Narcotics and $128.00 in cash.
Seventh District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 311 complaints and 15 previous complaints. They made 33 cases including 1 juvenile for 3 Felony, 19 Misdemeanor, 11 Municipal violations and issued 4 Summons and had 11 Curfew violators. They made 100 pedestrian contacts, 105 field interviews and wrote 19 reports. The units stopped 48 vehicles, issued 29 citations and made 7 traffic arrests. They conducted 6 Wanted Checks and made 2 Narcotics cases confiscating 1 Gun and Narcotics.
Eighth District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 245 complaints and made 33 cases for 1 Felony, 19 Misdemeanor, 13 Municipal violations and issued 35 Summons and had 14 Curfew violators. The units stopped 69 vehicles, issued 32 citations and made 9 traffic arrests. They made 84 pedestrian contacts, 147 field interviews and wrote 25 reports. They made 5 Narcotics cases confiscating 1 Gun and Narcotics.

Any person who, after the commission of a felony, shall harbor, conceal, or aid the offender, knowing or having reasonable ground to believe that he has committed the felony, and with the intent that he may avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction, or punishment shall be charged with R.S. 14:25; Relative to Accessories After the Fact.
An accessory after the fact may be tried and punished, notwithstanding the fact that the principal felon may not have been arrested, tried, convicted, or amenable to justice.
Whoever becomes an accessory after the fact shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both; provided that in no case shall his punishment be greater than one-half of the maximum provided by law for a principal offender.
